It was my first Stage 212 Show and I wanted to do a good job and make a good impression. I had been cast as Hammicker in the play "A Few Good Men". While we were doing rehearsals for one of the scenes I was in I heard a lot of laughing from others after I said my line. I asked what was going on. They said you said your name was hamburger! No I didn't. Well it seemed that no matter how clearly I tried to say that line the people in the seats were hearing it as "Hamburger". Talk about embarrising. I spoke with our Director and told him my problem and made a suggestion. We changed the name to Green and that is what I went by for the rest of that show.
I had an opportunity to act at Stage 212 during my last spring before I moved away. I even landed a lead on my first try. I played Susan in 2012's Don't Drink the Water. I can say I've never had more fun. There is a photo... somewhere.... of me during our rehearsal when I was first confronted with the best prop I've ever seen. Larry Kelsey on a copy of Time Magazine. I'm clearly cracking up and trying to remain in character. I can only hope someone still has that magazine.
