Isabel Fox, a poet wrestling with depression in the wake of an unexpected divorce, moves in next door to Charles Norton, a musician who has been living a solitary existence in his apartment for many years. In the beginning, Isabel takes her head out of the oven long enough to go next door and ask Charles to turn down his music. When she returns to the oven, Charles smells the gas next door and thwarts the suicide attempt. Complicated love blossoms for Charles and Isabel, and for Isabels doting father and Charless charming mother, as well. George and Helen meet in the hallway while checking up on their children one day, and find they too have a connection which leads to romance. Through the ins and outs of daily life Isabel and Charles ask the age-old question, How do you meet-fall-in-love-and-live-happily-ever-after? as their parents do. Its a Youve got to see it to understand it play and is truly a quaint walk through four peoples lives. |
