STAGE 212 SEEKS PLAYS & MUSICALS FOR 2013
January 6, 2012 - Stage 212 is currently seeking
submissions from directors for 2013, our 45th anniversary
season. Applications for the winter, spring, summer and fall
slots are being accepted for consideration. We will also entertain proposals for special
5th Show productions, typically small cast and a little out
of the ordinary, to run in slots outside of the regular season. Winter productions are
typically small musicals or comedy/dramas, the spring and fall shows are comedy/dramas and
the summer production is traditionally a big musical, but other proposals will be
considered. We will consider repeats of shows from our first 25 years
(visit the Shows page
for a complete reference list of all productions Stage 212 has put on in our forty-five
year history) plus all new submissions. Anyone interested in submitting a play for
consideration should contact Joyce Myler at 815-481-4128,
email joycemyler@sbcglobal.net
or download submission forms via the links below (forms are in the Microsoft
Word format). Applications are due, with three perusal scripts,
by February 15. Submissions should be dropped off at the Stage
212 box office, 700 First St., LaSalle during regular office hours, or mailed to Stage
212 at P.O. Box 198, LaSalle, IL 61301. Box office hours are Monday
and Saturday, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 10:00 a.m.
1:00 p.m. A final selection will be made for recommendation to the Management

men and three women to fill non-speaking roles. Those
auditioning will be asked to read selected passages from the script. Familiarity with the

STAGE 212 RAISES FUNDS FOR NEW ROOF
December 22, 2011 - Stage 212 has made replacing our ailing
roof a top priority for 2012. Thanks to the generosity of local theater patrons, we are
off to a good start raising the funds needed to complete the job. The organization has
announced that proceeds from the recent holiday revue, Up on the
Rooftop, as well as many donations have added up to approximately $20,000
so far to fund the ongoing project. Stage 212 President Phil Grant summed
it up well. It was truly a wonderful experience to be a part of Up On The
Rooftop. To see the community pull together for a common cause was inspiring. It is
good for us to remember that as a community theater, Stage 212 belongs to all of us in the
community. That being said, Stage 212s Management Board and all of its members thank
the community and our generous benefactors for their support in the past, present and
future." The organization has not set a definite fundraising goal yet, as options are
still being considered for the roof repair. In the meantime, donations are still being
accepted at the Stage 212 box office, phone 815-224-3025 or email stage212@att.net. The roof replacement
is expected to be completed sometime during our 2012 season which will
feature The Spitfire Grill in January, Dont
Drink the Water in April, The Scarlet Pimpernel in
July and A Thousand Clowns in October.
